Star Silver

“Thruth is in the eye of the beholder”

Star Silver is a little worldbuilding project of mine. What started as a world for my DnD game quickly evolved into something larger and much more involved.I hope you will like what you’ll find here.

Star Silver is named for the material of the same name. It is what the place between worlds is made of and yet it is nothing. For it is nothing, it can and wants to be anything, so it tries to conform to it’s surroundings and the thoughts of it’s observers. And it is the same for much of the world, what is true and is not true is irrelavant, for if lie is believed enough, it will become the truth and a truth if disbelieved shall become false.

Short lesson on the nature of the World

The worlds of Star Silver are contained in Spheres, it is in them that most things take place. The “space” between the Spheres is the Silver Sea, made of the ever changing and all-consuming star silver, it is a place hostile to anything, for the nothingness dissolves all, in an attempt to become it.

Each Sphere has few shared characteristics. Spheres are made of unknown indestructible material, which resists even star silver, keeping it from spilling into the world. These Spheres have small holes in them, giving the appearence of stars.

Each Sphere also has two points, which are not holes, but catalysts of souls. These two catalysts are two bright points on the sky, they are placed opposed to each other upon the sky and their place never changes. These are the sun and the moon, as mentioned they are not physical places, but just points of condensed soul energy.

Kreshen

Kreshen is the Sphere and continent most of Star Silver takes place in. It saw the rise of many glorious civilizations only for them to fall, forgotten and unmourned. This came to it’s ultimate conclusion with the creation of the Curse unremembered, which saw over the centuries the turning of most of Kreshen into the Unnamed wastes, where everything and everyone is forgotten.

Some two centuries ago a Dagrani fleet, fleeing a prophesized doom, found safe haven in the Sphere of Kreshen. They quickly settled and many forgot the reason for the exodus. This led to the Shattering a magical cataclysm that destroyed large part of Moonside coasts, taking many settlements with it.

Now, seven years after the Shattering, things are settling into a new normal, but how will it look, only time will tell. If there will be someone to witness it.
